Business development Intern
(SPEAK Hub)
Location: Lisbon, Leiria  or Remote

SPEAK is a social tech venture that connects migrants, refugees, and locals through a language and culture exchange program and events - helping them feel integrated into the city where they moved to. It breaks barriers, promotes multilingualism, equality, and democratizes language learning.

SPEAK is today in more than 30 cities in 15 different countries. In 2023, we started shaping our B2B product called SPEAK Hub: a program that connects companies together with migrants and refugees to create a more inclusive society!  We’re looking for someone to help us shape the future of SPEAK Hub!

Job description - what you will get to do:
  • Understand the concept of SPEAK Hub (
    https://partners.speak.social);
  • Support in the development and implementation of the business development strategy for SPEAK Hub;
  • Work on SPEAK Hub lead generation strategy, identifying and contacting potential clients;
  • Identify growth opportunities by benchmarking the Portuguese market;
  • Work on outreach strategies (creating templates and work together with the marketing team for the creation of specific campaigns).
  • Assist with decks’ preparation;
  • Support with the collection of data and report creation;
  • Stay on top of trends, tools, and technologies and identify new opportunities;
Main requirements - you should:
  • Being enrolled or have a degree in Business, Management, Sustainable Development or similar;
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Portuguese;
  • Be curious and willing to learn & develop yourself with the support of the team;
  • Have strong knowledge of Canva & Excel (Google sheets), and creating professional presentations;
  • Have knowledge of Hubspot is a plus;
  • Have experience with doing research;
  • Have an analytical mind, using data to improve actions and future strategies;
  • Have problem-solving skills, business judgment, strategic and analytical capabilities;
  • Be comfortable with teamwork skills and have experience in bringing together diverse views
  • Communicate/collaborate effectively;
  • Ability to work independently and proactively being available to take on multiple tasks at once;
  • Passionate about social impact and social justice;
  • Passionate about the three social S’s: social entrepreneurship, social innovation, and social impact;
  • Have a good sense of humor - and we are not even joking.
What else do you need to know?
  • This is a curricular internship position;
  • Minimum duration of the internship is 4 months;
  • You will report to our Customer Success Specialist and Chief Strategy Officer;
  • You must be available to work 30 hours a week;
  • Hybrid workplace, we have offices in Lisbon and Leiria.
